I have been having the best days.

I live in a beautiful pocket of Japan, and it's a shame that most people will never ever know about it.

Although the rest of my month is pretty full, I am already feeling down about this group leaving on Sunday morning because my life has been so full with them in it and I will be so lonely without this all- ( Read more... )

 As part of my job, I am responsible for occasionally going out to schools and citizens' groups to talk about my country. Because of the influenza, the few requests we've gotten so far have usually been canceled, so I have only gone twice since starting in late July ( Read more... )

Food makes me feel very productive, even though it's unnecessary to put so much effort into it. Oh well, deepening my relationship with my new oven/toaster/microwave has been good.

First I attempted s'mores. I couldn't find graham crackers and the milk chocolate here is waaaaaaaaaaaay too sweet, but in a pinch, this'll do.

It's nothing new, but can I just say? Writing a letter of complaint really gets results.

I am very pleased with myself. Until an hour ago, my desktop would not boot at all -- not regularly, not in safe mode, and the Last Known Good Configuration was also corrupt. But! Buuuuuut! Now it is fine and peachy again!

I didn't quite think it was possible but after all of this cooking I've finally gotten to do, my once ever-present interest in food has dwindled. It doesn't run my life or function as the tantalizing reward as it once did.... or maybe I just think this because I'm full right now?
